Sourcing Information:

I take great care to source the cleanest, best quality ingredients I can while buying in bulk to keep prices reasonable for my customers. I’m very mindful about counterfeit products(especially on Amazon), and I try to support small farms as much as I can.

TALLOW: I used to render my own lard and tallow from Utah Natural Meat, and a few of my soaps still have that(including all of the lamb tallow ones), but it wasn’t sustainable for me to continue with that, so now I buy rendered grass fed beef tallow from Brooksie, which gets their grass fed beef fat from small farms near them in Delaware. It is salt rendered to purify it(same method I used myself to render local tallow) and has no other additives.GOAT’S MILK: I get my goat’s milk locally from Drake’s Family Farms in West Jordan, UT.LARD: I get my lard through Harry Hansen’s Meat Service which gets their pork fat from small farms near them in Wisconsin. It is dry rendered with no additives.LYE AND CITRIC ACID: both are food grade. The same lye can be used for traditional pretzels, and the same citric acid can be used for home canning.ESSENTIAL OILS: I order bulk essential oils from VineVida which has their GC/MS testing information on their website. They are primarily a fragrance oil company, but I have found their pure essential oils to be of excellent quality and I can get larger sizes for a better price there than other suppliers I have tried. They list in their product descriptions which part of the world they source each oil from and the different compounds they contain.Other oils/ingredients:
Coconut: EV Organic from Costco
Sunflower: Organic and hexane free
Many of the botanicals on top of my soaps are homegrown organically.
*Not everything I use has the organic label because many times “organic” only has only 5% less pesticides than conventional and costs twice as much. The only ingredients I know for sure do not have any pesticides/herbicides are the homegrown ones.
